Romeoville, Ill- The SBU Men's soccer team traveled to Lewis University to take on the Flyers this evening. The Bearcats earned their first points toward the conference standings as they tied the 3^rd place team in conference 0-0. This moves them to 0-11-2 (0-8-1 GLVC) on the season.
 
"It was unfortunate to not get a win, but the first point of season came from us doing what we work on most." Said Head Coach Sabelo Hlongwane, "Our spirits are high, and the chemistry is building which is good for the direction we look to take in the future. Very proud of the boys for our playing an entertaining game and playing the right way."
 
"It was a great game, it's exciting to see our hard work finally starting to pay off." Said Senior Captain Kevin Zavala, "We played a really good opposition, and it was good to show that we can hang with the top teams in conference. We have 3 games left and hopefully we can get our first win."
 
Senior Willy Lusansu posted 5 saves on the game and earned his second career shutout.
 
They will return to action Sunday as they take on another tough opponent in University of Indianapolis. The match is scheduled to kickoff at 1:30 PM CST on Sunday.
