Box Score Springfield, Mo- The SBU Women's Basketball team traveled down I-13Â to take on the #1 team in the Drury Panthers, this afternoon. The Bearcats fell by a final score of 82-56 That loss puts the Bearcats at 10-8 (5-5 GLVC).
"I give a lot of credit to Drury for their toughness and tenacity in the paint and their pressure on the basketball. They made it really hard for us to get into an offensive flow and we took away a lot of scoring opportunities for ourselves with our turnovers" said Head Coach
Kelsey Keizer.
Â
Despite the Panthers defensive tenacity, nine out of the ten Bearcats who took the floor today contributed to the scoreboard.
Kyleigh Vaught,
Mary Rose Foster,
Kelsey Blakemore, and
Kallyn Stumbo tied with the team high 8 points.
"We will continue to rely on the depth of our team to keep giving us scoring options moving forward. We need our young players to keep growing from experiences like this game to help prepare us for the rest of the conference season."
Bearcats will be back in action Thursday January 27th against the Lindenwood Lions. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 PM.Â
