Bolivar, Mo. - The Bearcats Men's Soccer team lost a hard fought battle against Colorado Christian in a 2-1 finish for their 2021 season opener. This gives the team an 0-1 (0-0 GLVC) record on the season.

Southwest Baptist fought through the battle and scored first thanks to a goal by Gauthier Vareilles with an assist from Pierre Lurot. Late in the 2nd half, Colorado Christian scored to even the game. The match got physical and the battle continued into overtime. A little over halfway into the overtime period, Colorado Christian scored to the end the game by a score of 2-1. Will vanHoornbeek finished the game with five saves for the Bearcats.

With Dallas Baptist unable to make the tournament this weekend, the team will hit the road for their next competition. They will face Southern Nazarene University on September 9, with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 PM in Bethany, OK.
