Allendale, Mich. – Day three of the NCAA DII Outdoor Track & Field National Championships took place on Saturday, featuring all 8 of SBU's qualifying athletes. Everyone finished top-15, and 7 received All-American honors.
Trenton Finley was the first to compete on Saturday, earning All-American honors in the pole vault with his 5
th place finish. He successfully cleared 5.20m, tying his school record he set earlier this season. The women's 4x100 meter relay consisting of
Tamia Rayford,
Zara Brown,
Meleah Ridenour, and
Britney Clark also finished 5
th, receiving All-American honors as well. Their time of 45.52 broke SBU's previous record of 45.87. Placing 6
th in the 1500 meters to be named an All-American was
Elysia Burgos. She came up just shy of her own school record, running the race in 4:22.15.
Tahje Parrish was the other Bearcat to earn All-American honors, jumping a distance of 15.26 meters in the triple jump, good for 8
th place.
Asa Carter also competed in the triple jump, taking 12
th place with a distance of 14.81 meters.
