Kirksville, Mo. – Southwest Baptist came up just short in a tight contest with the Truman State Bulldogs in a 1-0 loss. This makes the Bearcats record 3-8-1 on the season and in the GLVC with just one game remaining in the season.
Truman State got a couple of quick shots that were well wide of the target, followed by
David Sanchez and
Alberto Rodriguez testing the Bulldogs goalie shortly after. SBU was slightly outshot in the first half with 8 shots to Truman State's 10 but the Bearcats had 3 more saves than the Bulldogs.
Will vanHoornbeek stayed strong in goal with 5 saves on the game and only allowing the one goal in the 82
nd minute. Truman State got chippy late, drawing 3 yellow cards in the final 8 minutes of the match.

David Sanchez each had two shots for the Bearcats to lead them.
The Bearcats will wrap up the 2021 season on April 16 when they come back home to host William Jewell for senior day.
