Bolivar, Mo. – Southwest Baptist used a late goal to pull ahead and get their third win of the season in a 2-1 finish. This makes the Bearcats record 3-3-1 (3-3-1 GLVC) for the season.
McKendree got out to an early lead with a goal in the 38
th minute. Southwest Baptist came back in the second half when
Francisco Gonzalez scored off of a pass from
Luke Clingerman.
Race Roberts got a breakaway with 30 seconds remaining in the game and the goalie came out and fouled him just outside the box and received a red card as a consequence. The free kick was taken by
Francisco Gonzalez and was blocked but ricocheted off and
Isaiah Waddy was there to finish it off and seal the victory.
Francisco Gonzalez led the Bearcats with 4 shots as well as
Alberto Rodriguez having 3 shots.
The Bearcats will be back in action on March 26 in Evansville, Ill. when they face Southern Indiana.
