Kirksville, Mo. - Southwest Baptist will be making the trip to Kirksville to face off against the Bulldogs of Truman State. This will be the final game of a COVID plagued season.

SCOUTING THE BEARCATS
In their first year as full-time members of the Great Lakes Valley Conference, the SBU Women's Basketball team finished 15-13 (9-11 GLVC) on the year. The GLVC allows just 8 teams to make the conference tournament. Finishing 10th out of 16 teams in the GLVC, the Bearcats narrowly missed the conference tournament for the second straight year.

The Bearcats are led by experience with seniors Kyleigh Vaught, Sydney Bandy, and Regan Tibbits as the top three scorers with all three averaging in the double digits. Tibbits also leads the team in rebounding with 5.2 rebounds per game. Southwest Baptist is currently leading the conference in free throw percentage with a 77.5% mark.

Southwest Baptist is coming off a win over the Quincy Hawks where three Bearcats finished with double-digits points. Sydney Bandy led the Bearcats with 16 points as well as 6 rebounds. Mary Rose Foster set a career high in rebounds with 7. The Bearcats finished the game nearly perfect from the charity stripe, going 17-18 on the game. SBU shot an immpressive 46.0% from the field and held the Hawks to just 29.3% shooting including 0-10 from the field in the fourth quarter.

SCOUTING THE TRUMAN STATE BULLDOGS
Truman State is coming off a home win over Rockhurst after their previous four games were postponed due to COVID protocols. Redshirt sophomore finished the game with a double-double which was her sixth of the season. Sophomore Hannah Belanger is leading the Bulldogs in scoring with 19.8 points per game. Seniors Tiffany Davenport and Katie Jaseckas help to anchor the Bulldogs with Davenport averaging 6.4 assists per game and Jaseckas averaging 8.4 rebounds per game. Truman State is leading the GLVC in both field goal percentage (49.0%) and 3-point field goal percentage (39.8%).

THE COACHES

SBU head coach Kelsey Keizer begins her seventh season on the SBU bench after compiling a 81-90 (44-74 conf.) record while at SBU. Coach Keizer led two Bearcats to All-GLVC honors last season, and fell just short of the conference tournament as the GLVC takes only 8 teams to the postseason tournament.

Theo Dean is currently in his second season as the head coach of Truman State. Dean was named interim head coach in 2019 but after a 9-3 start to the season the interim tag was removed. Dead has been with the program for ten years and has coached 12 All-GLVC players.

ALL-TIME SERIES
Southwest Baptist leads the all-time series against the Bulldogs 29-21 with the Bulldogs taking the last matchup 66-80.
