New Orleans, La. - The SBU Women's Track & Field team is having a historic season. Last week, the team tied their highest ranking in program history at #7. This week, the women's team moved up three spots in the USTFCCCA Ratings to the #4 spot, the highest in program history. Again, the Bearcats are the only GLVC team in the top 25 and second highest ranking in the Midwest Region. In their four meets this year, the women's team has had 12 first place finishes and 8 qualifiers for the national championships. The Bearcats have 5 top-five marks in all of Division II. The distance medley relay team of
Tabitha Weber,
Britney Clark,
Alexis Barber, and
Elysia Burgos have the best time in the nation.
Tamia Rayford and
Britney Clark rank 2nd and 3rd in the 60 meters,
Meleah Ridenour has the 2nd longest jump in the long jump and the 5th best score in the pentathlon. Next on the schedule for the team is the Bearcat Open hosted by Northwest Missouri State in Maryville, Missouri.
