Indianapolis, Ind. - The Great Lakes Valley Conference announced the first Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week Wednesday afternoon, naming Parker Love the men's Track Athlete of the Week. On Saturday, December 4, the SBU Track & Field teams competed in their first meet of the 2021-22 Indoor season at the Crimson & Gold Invitational held by Pittsburg State. At that meet, Parker Love took 2nd in the 200 meters with a time of 21.31 and 11th in the 60 meters, running that race in 6.86. Both of those times were provisional marks and his 200 meter time broke the previous school record of 21.47, ranking 2nd in NCAA Division II and 4th in all of the NCAA divisions. His 60 meter time currently ranks 16th in NCAA DII. This award marks the program's first GLVC Track Athlete of the Week. The program's most recent GLVC Athlete of the Week award was back in January, as Tahje Parrish was named GLVC Field Athlete of the Week.
