SBU Knocks Down 13 Three's in Win Over the Miners

Bolivar, Mo- The Men's Basketball team had their third conference game of the week against the Missouri S&T Miners this afternoon. The Bearcats controlled the whole game and won by a score of 70-51 to win all three conference games this week. That win moves them to 7-1 (3-0 conference.)

Jalil Beaubrun opened up the scoring knocking down a three pointer. Beaubrun would score four more points but the Bearcats would head into the first media tied at 9. Beaubrun would hit his second three of the game soon out of the media timeout. Bearcats would go on a 10-2 run to take a 27-18 lead forcing the Miners to call a timeout. RJ Crawford would score seven straight points out of the time out to give SBU a 16-point lead 13 minutes into the game. The Bearcats would continue to be hot from deep hitting 9 threes' in the first half to lead 45-25 after 20.

Quinn Nelson would knock down his first three of the game in the first minute of the second half putting the Bearcats up 23. Bearcats would continue to grow their lead to as much as 27 throughout the game. Miners fought hard to come back but couldn't get past the Bearcats defense. SBU won with a final score of 70-51.

SBU went 26-53 from the field shooting 41% and went 13-33 from beyond the arc for 39.4 %. Bearcats had 19 assists on 26 field goals made. Crawford had his second career night of the week, beating out his old highest point game of 18 against William Jewell, he scored 19 tonight against the Miners. Beaubrun and Mitch Ganote each had 12 points and Quinn Nelson notched another double-digit night scoring 11.

The Bearcats will be back in action Tuesday December 14th as they take on Williams Baptist College here in Bolivar, Mo. Tip-off is scheduled for 11am.
