St. Charles, Mo. – Southwest Baptist dropped the last game of the first conference series with Lindenwood 1-9. This pushes the Bearcats record to 6-12 (0-3 GLVC) for the season.
Kyle Smith toed the rubber for the final game of the series and went 5 innings only allowing 6 hits and striking 3 out. Lindenwood scored all 9 of their runs in the first 6 innings to take a 9-0 lead.
Blake Lutgen got the one run on the board for the Bearcats after
Langdon Gordon singled with 2 outs. Lutgen then had a 6 pitch at-bat ending in a double to right field scoring Gordon. Both Lutgen and Gordon led the Bearcats at the plate with two hits each.
Brett Mitchell and
Josh Torrance each added a hit to the column as well.
The Bearcats will be back at home to host Illinois-Springfield next week on March 14 and 15. Come out and cheer on your Bearcats
