Searcy, Ark. - The SBU Baseball team will hit the road again for the second series of the season. The Bearcats will travel to play Harding University with a double header being played on Saturday and the final game of the series on Sunday. The first game on the eighth will be at 1:00 followed by the second game at 3:00 or later depending on the first game. The final game will be played at 1:00 on Sunday to wrap up the series. 

SCOUTING THE BEARCATS
The Southwest Baptist University Bearcats are coming off a 19-31 (10-23 MIAA) finish last season. The athletics program has made the move from the MIAA to the GLVC, going from 14 to 16 teams in the conference. A solid, veteran pitching staff returns for the Bearcats, Dalton Morrow, Drew Wagner, Kyle Smith, and Cole Van Every. Leading the Bearcats offensively will be Brett Mitchell, Sam Avila, Blake Hobbs, Jackson Soule, and Blake Lutgen. Last season the Bearcats played against a few GLVC teams, going 2-1 against Maryville who finished 2nd in the GLVC last year, beating Drury 9-2, and sweeping McKendree with scores of 15-1 and 5-3.

SCOUTING THE BISON
The Harding University Bison are picked to finish in 5th place in the Great American Conference. They are coming off of a 34-21 record in the 2019 season in which they were the 6th seed in the conference tournament. The Bison made a run in the tournament to the championship but came up just short, falling to Oklahoma Baptist 12-3. Harding is returning three key starters that were able to start each game in the 2019 season. Luke Van Dover is looking to lead the Bison  this season at the plate after leading the GAC in doubles the season before.
