Indianapolis, Ind. - The Bearcats will finish up the road trip against the University of Indianapolis. Both teams are coming off of a loss and looking to get back on the winning trail.Â
SCOUTING THE BEARCATS
The Bearcats return just 1 starter from the 2018-19 season inÂ
Bailey Rezabek. SBU also returns their forward transfer duo from last season,Â
Tyra Kidd andÂ
Zahria White. Returning for their junior seasons areÂ
Taliayah Wilson,Â
Regan Tibbits, andÂ
Sydney Bandy. SophomoresÂ
Brylee Graddy andÂ
Megan Worthington also return. The Bearcats also add quite a few new faces, including NCAA DI transferÂ
Alexus Johnson.
In their last competition, the Bearcats lost to Bellarmine on the road. Piper Francis came off the bench to spark the Bearcats with 14 points but that wasn't quite enough to pull out the win.
SCOUTING THE GREYHOUNDS
Indianapolis is coming off a home loss to #1 Drury. The Greyhounds are only averaging 66.2 points per game so they don't rely on offense to win but rather a strong defense. Indianapolis is being led in scoring by Laura Thomas who is averaging 14.7. Their second leading scorer Dasia Evans is currently out injured which will hurt the Greyhounds.
THE COACHES
SBU head coachÂ
Kelsey Keizer begins her sixth season on the SBU bench after compiling a 66-76 (35-63 MIAA) record while at SBU. Coach Keizer led two Bearcats to All-MIAA honors last season, and fell just short of the conference tournament as SBU lost the head-to-head against the #10 seeded MSSU earlier in the season.
Kristin Wodrich is entering her 4th season as the Greyhounds head coach. She has been able to dig the program out of the hole they were in with consecutive losing seasons for the first time since 1999. Wodrich led the Greyhounds to two wins over nationally ranked teams in the GLVC tournament.Â
ALL-TIME SERIES
Southwest Baptist trails in the all-time series against the Greyhounds 1-0 with that one loss coming in the 2002-03 season.Â
