Bolivar, Mo - The Bearcats defeated Missouri S&T twice today to take the season series two games to one. SBU won the first game 4-0 and also the second 3-2. The two wins improved their record to 3-12 (0-0 MIAA) for the season.

Game One

The game started out slow with SBU not getting on the board until the fourth inning.
Morgan McMullin singled to get it started with
Miranda Aguilar driving her in with a double. In the sixth
Kaitlyn Bagby drove in
Nicole Horstman on a single,
Megan Schellert drove in
Yezzania Gonzalez and
Taryn Elia on another single.

Maddie Massanelli pitched a complete game shutout only allowing 4 hits.
Paige St. Pierre led the Bearcats going 2 for 4 at the plate as well as
Yezzania Gonzalez going 2 for 2.

Missouri S&T got on the board first but SBU responded in the bottom of the first when
Paige St. Pierre and
Lauren Strobel both singled and then
Sam Moran doubled to drive St. Pierre in.
Kori Hillenburg started the second with a double later getting driven in on
Megan Schellert's single.

Missouri S&T tried to mount a comeback, scoring one in the top of the 7th but that is all they got.
Yezzania Gonzalez singled with two outs in the bottom of the 7th and then
Kori Hillenburg walked it off with a single scoring Gonzalez.

Kori Hillenburg led the Bearcats going 2 for 2 and driving in the game winning run.
Kaylee Schmidli and
Alexis Dock combined to only allow two runs on five hits.

The Bearcats will be back in action at home on March 11 with a double header against University of Illinois Springfield starting at 1:00.
