SCOUTING THE BEARCATS
The Bearcats are scoring 83.5 points per game and only allowing 70.2 points per game. Bailey Rezabek is helping to lead the Bearcats in scoring with a very strong 18.5 points per game. Alexus Johnson is a big contributor for SBU as well with 13.5 points per game and averaging 2.8 three pointers made a game. The Bearcats are being led by 3 seniors and a graduate transfer as well as 3 transfer juniors that are making immediate impacts. Young talent on this team will be the deciding factor and gives the Bearcats a very promising future. 

SCOUTING THE JETS
Newman comes into this matchup with the Bearcats having just beaten Oklahoma Christian. The Jets are averaging right at 55 points per game on 34.6% shooting from the field. Kaitlyn Potter is the main contributer in scoring for the Jets, averaging 16.3 points per game. Newman is a fairly young team with only two seniors on the roster. Newman also lost their leading scoring from the year before so they are depending on the newcomers to step up and anchor the team. 

THE COACHES
SBU head coach Kelsey Keizer begins her sixth season on the SBU bench after compiling a 66-76 (35-63 MIAA) record while at SBU. Coach Keizer led two Bearcats to All-MIAA honors last season, and fell just short of the conference tournament as SBU lost the head-to-head against the #10 seeded MSSU earlier in the season.

Darin Spence is starting his eighth season with the Jets. He looks to continue his success with the team in the MIAA after making the Heartland Conference tournament 6 of the first 7 years he coached. He has an overall record of 560-301 in his coaching career spanning over Division 1 and Division 2, NAIA, and NJCAA schools. 

ALL-TIME SERIES
The Bearcats have faced the Jets just one time in this series. The one meeting was in the 1983-84 season and the Bearcats won 87-60. Southwest Baptist looks to establish the three point shot early and use that to catapult them to the win.
