Bolivar, Mo. - Southwest Baptist used a strong 3rd quarter to secure the victory over Missouri Baptist in the home opener of the 2019-20 season.
Missouri Baptist played the Bearcats close in the first half but Coach Keizer made some adjustments at the half and came out and outscored the Spartans 33-7 in the third quarter. A 28-5 advantage on fastbreak points helped to propel the Bearcats in the onslaught.
Alexus Johnson helped to lead the Bearcats, going 5-5 from deep for a total of 17 points.

Sydney Bandy all scored in the double digits as well.
SBU will be on the road for their next game at St. Joseph, Mo against Missouri Western on November 15.
