Last Time Out
The Bearcats faced McKendree in the battle of the Bearcats last Saturday, falling to MCK by a final of 24-14. SBU jumped out to a 3-0 lead but found themselves trailing most of the game. Early into the 4th quarter, SBU tied the game at 14-14 when Brenden Smith ran for a 26-yard touchdown and found Curtis Cuillard for the 2-point conversion. McKendree then scored 10 to create a 24-14 final in nasty weather conditions. Despite the weather, Brenden Smith threw for 108 yards compared to McKendree's 20 yards in the air. Smith also rushed for 115 yards. De'shawn Tone was the leader on defense, collecting 9 total tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, and a forced fumble.

The Miners battled nationally ranked University of Indianapolis, falling to the Greyhounds 48-7. The first half was rather close as UIndy scored with 2:50 left in the half to make the score 14-0 heading into halftime. The Greyhound offense came out firing on all cylinders, boosting their lead to 34-7 at the end of the 3rd, and 48-7 as the final. For S&T, Brennan Simms completed 16 of 35 passes for 107 yards with 1 touchdown and 1 interception. The Miners struggled to run the ball, collecting a mere 32 yards on the ground. Justin Onwugbuf led S&T defensively, collecting 16 total tackles.

The Coaches & The All-Time Series
Robert Clardy begins his 5th season as the head coach of the Bearcats. The 2016 was historic for Clardy and the Bearcats, making their first ever NCAA Playoff appearance, National Ranking, and Conference Championship. Due to their success, Clardy was named 2016 GLVC Coach of the Year. In his 4 year stint, Clardy has helped collect 56 All-GLVC Player Awards, 6 All-Americans, and coached the 2015 GLVC Freshman of the Year. Clardy wasn't new to SBU when he took the head coaching reigns in 2015. Clardy played for the Bearcats from 2003-06, leading the team in total offense for 3 seasons and rushing and scoring for 2 seasons. He currently holds SBU's pass completion percentage record and sits top 10 in 11 SBU Career Records. Following his career as a player, Clardy joined the coaching staff as an assistant up until he was named head coach for the 2015 season.

The Missouri S&T Miners are led by 1st year head coach Todd Drury. Prior to taking the head coaching position in January of 2019, Drury served as the defensive coordinator for the Miners for 3 seasons and the defensive line coach for 1 season. Over the past two seasons, S&T has had the league's top defense, allowing just 292.2 yards/game in 2018 and 294.3 yards/game in 2017.

SBU leads the all-time series with the Miners 18-9-1. Last season, SBU hosted S&T for their homecoming game and first home game of the year. The final score of that game was 48-23 in favor of Missouri S&T. The Miners jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the 1st, but SBU battled back to make the score 24-14 at the half. S&T's offense became difficult to stop, creating the 48-23 final. De'shawn Tone was SBU's stand out player in that game, making 11 tackles, 2.5 of those being tackles for loss.
