Bolivar, Mo. – Sunday afternoon was a battle between the Bearcats as SBU hosted GLVC opponent McKendree on SBU's senior day. After the seniors were recognized, McKendree won the game by a narrow score of 1-0. The Bearcats fall to 3-5-1 (2-5 GLVC) on the season.
 
Ashlyn Gibbs went to work early, saving two shots within the first 3 minutes. The visitors scored first, taking a 1-0 lead just under 10 minutes into the game. SBU struggled to get shots off in the first half but came out firing in the second. Early into the second half, senior Raquel Rodriguez fired a shot on goal, but the goalie made a save to maintain their lead. A while later, Rodriguez, senior Cat Harris, and Morgan Houston all got off a shot, but nothing fell for SBU. The game ended with a 1-0 McKendree win, as SBU was unable to net any shots late in the second half.
 
Senior Raquel Rodriguez led the team with 4 shots, 1 of those on goal. Ashlyn Gibbs gave up just 1 goal and made 8 saves in the loss.
 
The Bearcats hit the road next weekend, traveling to Quincy and Truman State.
