Bolivar, Mo. - Southwest Baptist University faces William Jewell in a rematch for week six, this game counting as a conference matchup. 

Last Time Out
The Bearcats took on Truman State in Kirksville last Saturday, falling 52-7. The Bulldogs had received votes for a national ranking, but are now ranked #24 in the latest polls. In that game, Brenden Smith made his first start as a Bearcat, rushing for 175 yards and a touchdown, as well as throwing for 112. Tevin Hall led the Bearcats on defense, collecting 11 total tackles with 2 tackles for loss. 

The Cardinals faced the University of Indianapolis last week, where the Greyhounds won by a 59-7 final score. The Cardinal quarterback, Will Schneider, accumulated 196 yards in the air with a touchdown and an interception. Running the ball was difficult for the Cardinals, as they ended up with -22 total rushing yards. Brock Geisz, #27, is the leading tackler for William Jewell. He has 55 total tackles with an interception and a fumble recovery this season.

The Coaches & The All-Time Series
Robert Clardy begins his 5th season as the head coach of the Bearcats. The 2016 was historic for Clardy and the Bearcats, making their first ever NCAA Playoff appearance, National Ranking, and Conference Championship. Due to their success, Clardy was named 2016 GLVC Coach of the Year. In his 4 year stint, Clardy has helped collect 56 All-GLVC Player Awards, 6 All-Americans, and coached the 2015 GLVC Freshman of the Year. Clardy wasn't new to SBU when he took the head coaching reigns in 2015. Clardy played for the Bearcats from 2003-06, leading the team in total offense for 3 seasons and rushing and scoring for 2 seasons. He currently holds SBU's pass completion percentage record and sits top 10 in 11 SBU Career Records. Following his career as a player, Clardy joined the coaching staff as an assistant up until he was named head coach for the 2015 season. 

The Cardinals have a new interim head coach, Chuck Lliteras. Prior to this season, Lliteras served as the defensive coordinator at William Jewell since the 2017 season. Lliteras led the Cardinals to a 100-point improvement on defense from the 2017-2018 season. Along with William Jewell, Lliteras has had several other collegiate coaching experiences, as well as 25 years of high school experience. His high school success led him to a 2013 Missouri High School Football Coaches Hall of Fame induction.  

Southwest Baptist leads the all-time series against William Jewell, 6-4. The last time these teams faced off was earlier this season, where the Bearcats fell to the Cardinals 9-29 in Liberty. In the loss, Dylan Mountain still threw for 184 yards and Eric Knight rushed for 108. Also in that game, Curtis Cuillard dressed his first game as a Bearcat, making 11 catches for 122 yards and a touchdown.
