Prgomet's Big Game Can't Top the Tigers

Bolivar, Mo. – The SBU Men's Basketball team fell to Fort Hays State Saturday afternoon by a score of 58-73. SBU moves to 8-5 (2-2 MIAA) on the year.
 
SBU got things moving quickly, Damian Prgomet hit a three just 27 seconds into the game. Prgomet scored the first 9 points for the Bearcats. Quinn Nelson nailed a three pointer with 15:31 left in the first half, giving SBU a 12-7 lead. FHSU made two free throws, but Prgomet kept his scoring up, completing an and-one play.
 
With 8:35 remaining, the Tigers took a 19-17 lead after making a three pointer of their own. On SBU's next possession, Prgomet threw a dunk down to even the score. The teams went back and forth for a while, but FHSU would take a 36-27 lead into halftime.
 
Prgomet continued his scoring, making the first bucket of the second half. The Tigers hit two quick three pointers, but Damian Prgomet threw down another dunk. With 14:46 left in the game, FHSU pushed their lead to 19. The next SBU score was another Damian Prgomet dunk.
 
The Tigers took a 23 point lead with a little under 8 minutes to go. A three point play by Godfrey Rolle and a Damian Prgomet layup chipped away at that lead. Chris Rossow made a three with 3:02 left, but the Tigers made two free throws following an SBU foul. A Karim Mouliom Layup and two Rolle free throws completed SBU's scoring, ending the game 58-73 in favor of FHSU.
 
Damian Prgomet had a monster game, scoring 24 points, 7 rebounds, 3 blocks, and an assist. Chris Rossow scored 10 points along with 3 steals. Karim Mouliom also had 7 rebounds in the loss.
 
SBU hits the road for their next competition, taking on Pittsburg State on January 9th at 7:30.
