Bolivar, Mo. – Lincoln University of Missouri Blue Tigers visited Bolivar Saturday afternoon. The Blue Tigers defeated the Bearcats 89-70, moving SBU's record to 9-8 (3-5 MIAA) on the year.
Lincoln scored the first bucket of the game. SBU's first score was a free throw from
Godfrey Rolle. Back-to-back layups from
Maris Colton gave SBU a one point lead early in the first half. Within a short amount of time, the Blue Tigers quickly regained the lead and pushed it to 10 points with 15:10 to go in the half.
Maris Colton scored again, followed by a
Tyler Williams layup to bring the score within six. Lincoln scored on a layup on their next possession, but the teams would trade baskets for a while to keep Lincoln's lead around seven.

Karim Mouliom layup and two
Godfrey Rolle free throws put the score at 23-18 in favor of the Blue Tigers. After a Lincoln jumper, Rolle nailed a three to cut the lead to four, but LU answered with a three of their own. Just over 5 minutes to go, the visitors pushed their lead to 12. The majority of scores in the remainder of the half were three pointers by both teams. The Blue Tigers hit a three right before halftime, giving them a 48-33 lead going into halftime.
The Blue Tigers came out of halftime hot, quickly getting a 19 point lead.
Adnan Jahic scored a layup with 15:41 to go, but Lincoln responded with back to back three point shots.
Godfrey Rolle made four straight points to chip away at LU's lead, but the Blue Tigers again responded with a three. With 9:08 left on the clock, Lincoln took their largest lead of the afternoon at 30 points.
Maris Colton,
Adnan Jahic, and
Karim Mouliom kept the scoring up for SBU to chip away at the Blue Tiger lead, but the Bearcats could only get back within 19, ending the game 89-70 in favor of Lincoln.
Karim Mouliom had his third double-double in four games, scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds.
Maris Colton also scored 20 points and 4 rebounds, shooting 7-9 from the field.
Godfrey Rolle was the other Bearcat in double digit points, scoring 15 points.
The Bearcats will begin a three game road trip, starting with Central Missouri on January 26 at 3:30 PM.
