Previewing the Bearcats
The Bearcats hold a 4-10 (0-5 MIAA) record this season. The Bearcats come off an 88-63 loss against the Pittsburg State Gorillas. With 14 games into the season, the Bearcats have the second highest offense in the conference averaging 76.4 ppg and they also have the fourth best field goal percentage at 44%. SBU is led by seniors
Caylee Richardson and
Morgan Henderson. Richardson is averaging 13.7 ppg while shooting 54.4% from the field and 91.3% from the free throw line and grabbing 6.4 rebounds per game. Henderson tallies 12.1 ppg while shooting 52.4% from the field while grabbing 7.6 rebounds per game which is sixth in the MIAA while dishing out 3.3 assists per game which is seventh in the conference.

Previewing the Lions
The Lions hold a 10-5 (2-3 MIAA) record this season. The Lions come off a 70-67 loss to Central Missouri. The Lions are averaging 69.5 ppg and they shoot 41.8% from the field as a team. MSSU is led by senior Chelsey Henry and junior Chasidee Ownes. Henry leads the Lions in points averaging 18.6 ppg which is second in the conference, she also shoots 44.7% from the field. Owens is the only other Lion that averages double digits in points at 10.7 ppg, she also shoots 50% from the field and averages 7.1 rebounds per game.

Kelsey Keizer who is in her fifth year on the Bearcat bench. Over her five years at SBU Keizer has a record of 60-68 (22-55 MIAA).

MSSU is coached by Ronnie Ressel who is in his second year as the full head coach as he was the interim head coach during the 2016-17 season. During his time at Missouri Southern, he has compiled a record of 33-39 (20-26 MIAA).

Missouri Southern leads the all-time series 41-24. In their only matchup, SBU defeated MSSU in the only meeting in the 2017-18 season by a score of 79-75.
