Bolivar, Mo. - The Bearcats hosted Northwestern Oklahoma State Thursday afternoon. After a full regulation and two overtimes, the match ended in a draw. The Women's Soccer Team now has a record of 0-2-1 on the year.
Both teams were quiet in the first half, ending 0-0. After a few good looks in the second half,
Raegan Edwards gave the Bearcats a 1-0 lead with a beautiful goal at the 52:45 mark. However, just 8 minutes later Northwestern Oklahoma State netted one of their own, creating a 1-1 tie. Each team had several chances in the remainder of the period, SBU with 7 shots in the half, NWOSU with 10.Â
The first overtime was strong defensively, each team only recording one shot a piece. Northwestern Oklahoma State recorded all three shots in the second overtime, but weren't able to score any, giving a final score of 1-1.Â
Southwest Baptist will be back in action September 11 at 4:30 PM when they travel to William Jewell.
