St. Charles, Mo. - The Men's Soccer Team also played against Lindenwood Sunday afternoon, Lindenwood winning this game 4-1. SBU Men's Soccer moves to 1-9 (0-3 MIAA).
Lindenwood struck first and early, scoring a goal at the 9:15 mark. Just a minute later,
Josh Peloquin put a shot on goal, but the Lions were able to make the save. Althought he was unsuccessful with that shot, he found the back of the net at 17:29 with an assist from
Alberto Rodriguez. Around the 30 minute mark, Lindenwood fired a few shots on goal, but
Will vanHoornbeek kept the score tied at 1-1. However, the Lions would score another goal before the half, giving them a 2-1 lead going into halftime.
The Lions came out hot, scoring their third goal of the night just 53 seconds into the second half, and again at 51:22.
Alberto Rodriguez fired a shot not long after that goal, but the result was wide.
Evan Haney attempted a shot as well, his was blocked. Both teams were kept out of the net for the remainder of the game, giving Lindenwood a 4-1 win.
Will vanHoornbeek started in goal for the Bearcats and made 5 saves on the night.
Josh Peloquin had the lone SBU goal and both shots on goal.
The Bearcats will be back in action next Sunday, taking on Northeastern State at 2 PM in Bolivar.
