Bolivar, Mo. - Friday afternoon, the Bearcats fell to Northeastern State by a score of 2-0. The loss brings SBU's record to 0-6-1 (0-3-0 MIAA) on the year.
The first 15 minutes were played with solid defense from both sides. At the 16:28 mark, NSU found the back of the net, giving them a 1-0 lead. Just a couple minutes later,
Raegan Edwards got a shot off, but it was blocked by the defense.
Ashlyn Gibbs was on fire in the first half, making 5 saves. Neither team would score again before the end of the half.Â
Gibbs and the SBU defense continued their play style into the second half.
Laura Manuel headed a beautiful ball, but it fell just wide of the goal. At the 79:14 mark, NSU scored their second goal, giving them a 2-0 lead and what would end up being the winning margin.Â
The Bearcats continue their home stand, taking on UCO Sunday, September 23 at 2 PM.Â
