Bolivar, Mo. - Sunday afternoon, Southwest Baptist hosted their first Men's Soccer game of the 2018 season. McKendree University defeated SBU with a final score of 4-1, bringing Southwest Baptist's record to 0-2 (0-0 MIAA).

SBU started strong, playing solid defense and passing the ball well. McKendree scored their first goal at 23:54. The rest of the half was tight, neither team would score before halftime. The second half began in a similar fashion to the first half, both teams playing well. At the 71:29 mark McKendree scored a goal due to a penalty shot, giving them a 2-0 lead. SBU was able to cut McKendree's lead in half with a penalty shot goal of their own from Isaiah Waddy. However, McKendree answered back quickly, scoring their third goal at 87:01. They would score one more goal before the match ended, giving McKendree a 4-1 final score. 

Southwest Baptist Men's Soccer will play again on September 7th at 7:30 PM against Ecclesia College in Bolivar.
