Bolivar, Mo. - SBU hosted Ouachita Baptist Sunday afternoon, the final score resulting in a Ouachita Baptist win. With the loss, the Bearcats move to 0-6 (0-0 MIAA).
Ouachita Baptist put the pressure on early, getting a few shots off early.
Josh Peloquin shot first for the Bearcats at the 28:35 mark. SBU kept their defense solid, blocking three straight shots to keep OBU out of the net. The scoreless game was broken at the 35:33 mark with a goal from OBU. As the clock ticked down for the end of the half, OBU netted another one, giving them a 2-0 lead going into halftime.Â
The Bearcats were given a solid opportunity to score with a penalty kick from
Josh Peloquin, but OBU made the save. OBU took the momentum and scored their third goal just a minute later. With seven minutes remaining, OBU netted their fourth goal. SBU go shots off from Torben Semrau and
Josh Peloquin in the last few minutes, but neither found the back of the net, leaving a final score of 4-0.
The Bearcats have their first conference match against FHSU on September 21 at 1 PM in Bolivar.Â
