Box Score Liberty, Mo. - The Women's Soccer Team fell to William Jewell Tuesday afternoon 0-2. With the loss, SBU falls to 0-3-1 (0-0 MIAA) for the year.
The Bearcats got off to a hot start.
Raquel Rodriguez fired a shot 46 seconds into the game, but it hit the cross bar. Less than two minutes later,
Maya Cofield got a shot on goal, but William Jewell made the save. SBU wouldn't get any more shots off in the 1st half, but they held William Jewell scoreless as well going into halftime.
The Bearcats started the second half in a similar manner as the first, getting a shot off a little over a minute into the period. William Jewell broke the scoreless tie with a goal at the 57:49 mark. Their second goal was scored at 69:32. With about 12 minutes left in the game, SBU had solid shots from
Raegan Edwards and
Raquel Rodriguez, but both were shot over the goal.Â
Neither team would score any more, finishing with a 2-0 score in favor of William Jewell.
Southwest Baptist travels to Edmond, OK on Friday, September 14 to battle their first MIAAÂ opponent, UCO at 7 PM.Â
