Bolivar, Mo.- The SBU Volleyball Team picked up their first win of the season defeating Union University (Tennessee) Saturday afternoon, but dropped their game against Henderson State. With the split, the Bearcats improve to 1-7 on the season.
In game one against Henderson State, the Bearcats dropped the first three sets by scores of 25-16, 25-14, and 25-19.
Delanie Tipton led the kills column for the Bearcats with 7, and
Makenzie Bouse collected another 20 assists on the match, leading both teams.
Against Union University, Southwest Baptist claimed their first victory, winning the first set 25-18, losing the second set 25-18, and winning the third and fourth sets 25-18 and 25-20 respectively.
Dana Neal had a double-double collecting 13 kills and 13 digs, while
Delanie Tipton had 5 blocks.
Makenzie Bouse led the assists column again with 41, and
Bailey Baumann collected 21 digs.
The Bearcats will host their home-opener on Tuesday, September 4th taking on Hannibal-Lagrange at 6 PM.
