Stephenville, TX - The Bearcat Volleyball Team opened their season in Stephenville, TX at the Tarleton Invitational Tournament. Their day began with a match at 10 AM against #16 Central Oklahoma and finished with a match against Oklahoma Baptist. Southwest Baptist played hard, but couldn't come out on top losing 3-0 against UCO and 3-1 against OBU. With the losses, the Bearcats go to 0-2 on the season. 

Against UCO, SBU fell in the first set 25-8, 25-17 in the second, and 25-15 in the third. Mikhaela Cochran led the Bearcats with 7 kills and Bailey Baumann picking up 8 digs in the loss. 

Taking on Oklahoma Baptist, the Bearcats took the first set 25-20, but lost the remaining sets by scores of 25-16 in the second, 25-16 in the third, and 25-20 in the fourth. Greysen Roster collected 12 kills for SBU and Bailey Baumann led in SBU's digs category with 21. Brea Freeman led the assists column for the Bearcats with 15 in the match. 

Southwest Baptist continues in the Tarleton Invitational Tournament again on Saturday, August 25th taking on Harding University at 9 AM and Black Hills State University at 2 PM.
