KU Relays Results
Lawrence, Kan. – On the second day of the KU Relays, sophomore Stephanie Penticuff won the 3,000 Meter Steeplechase with a provisional qualifying time of 10:51.57. Penticuff's time was about three seconds off the SBU school record.
In other action on the women's side, Oluwabukola Pereira placed 6
th in the 800 Meter after clocking a time of 2:17.16. Tamia Rayford took 8
th in the Long Jump with a jump of 5.66 meters (18 feet, 7 inches) while Meleah Ridenour finished 10
th in the same event with a leap of 5.42 feet (17 feet, 9 ½ inches). JaiDee Akers competed in the Javelin Throw and finished 12
th with a throw of 37.08 meters (121 feet, 8 inches). In the 5,000 Meter, Taylor Morrow took 18
th (18:32.18) and Lilly Uding finished 21
st (18:40.69). In the 1,500 Meter, Jade Raynor placed 21
st (5:07.82) while Amanda Berkstresser finished 24
th (5:09.20).
For the men, five SBU athletes competed in the 800 Meter. Matt Christoffer had the highest finish at 12
th place with a time of 1:55.80. Will O'Keefe placed 15
th with a time of 1:56.17, and Rocky Walker took 17
th with a time of 1:56.37. Drake Wilkerson finished 37
th (1:58.45) and Colby Sutton placed 40
th (1:59.08). For the 3,000 Meter Steeplechase, Tyler Goatley finished 14
th, clocking a time of 9:57.53. In the 1,500 Meter, Terry Fenske placed 15
th in a time of 4:02.27, and Blaine Jimerson took 19
th after running 4:04.50.
SBU will be back in action tomorrow for the third day of the KU Relays in Lawrence, Kansas.
