Box Score 1 | Box Score 2
Bolivar, Mo. - Freshman outfielder Payton Wildeman notched 5 RBIs across two games to help Southwest Baptist Softball gain a doubleheader split against Central Oklahoma in their final home games of the year. The win and loss moves SBU's record to 16-31 (6-16 MIAA) on the season with four left to play.

Game 1
After starting pitcher Alexis Dock worked a scoreless top of the 1st inning, the SBU offense did not take long to strike first. Two walks to Stormy Greathouse and Emily Hall allowed SBU to put runners on 1st and 2nd base with two outs, setting the stage for Wildeman. Wildeman smashed the 9th pitch of her at-bat over the left-field fence to hand SBU an early 3-0 lead. Dock kept the Bronchos off the board in the 2nd and 3rd innings, allowing SBU a chance to extend their lead.

In the bottom of the 3rd inning, Hall singled with two outs and moved to 2nd base on a wild pitch. A fielding error from the Bronchos on a batted ball from Wildeman sent home Hall and stretched the SBU advantage to 5-0. In the bottom of the 4th inning, Miranda Aguiliar led off with a single. Aguiliar's pinch runner, Kori Hillenburg, advanced to 2nd base on a sacrifice bunt and to 3rd base on a wild pitch. Kaley Hansen then did her job and brought home Hillenburg with an RBI groundout that made the score 5-0 Bearcats. Dock did run into some trouble in the top of the 5th inning as UCO loaded the bases and hit a grand slam to trim SBU's lead down to just 5-4.

When the bottom of the 5th inning rolled around, the SBU offense got a run back. Greathouse led off with a single and moved to 2nd base on a sacrifice bunt. A wild pitch on ball four to Hall put runners on the corners with one out. Wildeman came through again with a RBI fielder's choice that scored Greathouse and extended SBU's out to 6-4. The Bearcats added some more insurance in the bottom of the 6th inning as Morgan McMullin homered to left center to make the score 7-4. McMullin's home run was vital as the Bronchos added two runs in the top of the 7th off Dock. Despite giving up two in the 7th, Dock put the clamps on with a game ending double play, and the Bearcats escaped with a 7-6 victory.

Throwing all 7 innings with 9 hits, 6 runs, 3 hits, and 6 strikeouts, Dock earned the win (2-5). Wildeman was 1 for 3 with the big home run and 4 RBI. Greathouse was 2 for 2 with a walk and run scored while McMullin recorded the one home run in her only official at-bat.

Game 2
The second game of the day was the reverse of the first game as the Bronchos got on the scoreboard first in the top of the 1st inning. UCO went up 2-0 early behind a one-out two RBI single off SBU starter Kaylee Schmidli. Schmidli settled in the 2nd and 3rd innings with two scoreless innings. However, the SBU offense could not get going and the score stayed at 2-0 after three innings.

In the top of the 4th, the UCO offense extended their lead with two more runs off of Schmidli. An RBI double made the score 3-0 and RBI single stretched the margin to 4-0. The Bearcat offense immediately answered back in the bottom of the 4th inning. With two outs and nobody on base, Hall doubled to the wall in right center field. The next batter, Wildeman, knocked a double of her own with this one being to left field, and Hall trotted home to trim the score down to 4-1.

Wildeman's double would be the last of the scoring in the game though. Schmidli shined the rest of the way as she retired six batters in a row over the 5th and 6th inning and escaped a bases loaded nobody out jam in the 7th inning. The Bearcats best scoring chance came in the bottom of the 6th inning. After a one-out Megan Schellert single, Wildeman singled with two outs and advanced on a throw to put runners on 2nd and 3rd base. But the UCO pitcher induced a groundout from Lauren Strobel to end the threat. A quiet bottom of the 7th inning from the Bearcats sealed the 4-1 win for the Bronchos.

Schmidli took the loss (0-6) after tossing 7 innings with 10 hits, 4 runs, 3 walks, and 1 strikeout. Wildeman was a perfect 3 for 3 in the ballgame and tallied the lone RBI. Hall and Schellert were the only other Bearcats to record hits.

SBU will travel to Lindenwood on Friday for a doubleheader beginning at 2:00 PM.
