Bolivar, Mo. - Southwest Baptist University Men's Tennis beat Northwest Missouri State by a score of 8-1 to make their record 14-2 (4-0 MIAA).
In doubles, Raul Caballero and Torben Semrau gave the first point to SBU by winning their doubles on court #2 by a score of 8-1. Ferenc Agoston and Gyorgy Agoston added another point to SBU's tally by beating their opponents on court #1 8-3. Northwest managed to capture their only doubles point by winning double #3 by one break in a close score of 8-6.
In singles, SBU had their best performance of the year and managed to capture all the six singles points. Caballero finished first and won 6-2, 6-0 on court #2. After a long match on court #1, Sherif Abohabaga kept his winning streak and stayed undefeated by beating his opponent on court #1 in the third set 6-3. Gyorgy Agoston captured the fourth point for the SBU after his brother Ferenc Agoston won in singles #3. Torben Semrau and David Szeri added the last two points for SBU, which made the final score 8-1 SBU.
Men's Tennis will head on road to play against Nebraska Kearney on April 7th at 10:00 AM. It's a decisive match as to who will finish first in the MIAA conference.
