Box Score
Warrensburg, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University Baseball team bounced back in a big way with a 6-1 victory over #3 Central Missouri Tuesday night. The Bearcats improved to 10-18 (4-12 MIAA) and handed the Mules just their 7th loss of the season.

Central Missouri scored their only run of the game in the bottom of the 1st on a solo home run. SBU immediately knotted the game up at 1-1 in the top of the 2nd on a Don Roethler RBI groundout. The Bearcats took the lead and scored the decisive run of the game the following inning. In the top of the 3rd, Luke Winfrey led off with an infield single. He later moved to a second on a groundout. After another groundout, Hunter Hisky stepped to the plate and drove an 0-2 pitch into the gap in right center for a double that sent home Winfrey.

After a scoreless 4th, 5th, and 6th, the Bearcats added on to their lead with a three run 7th. Trevor Lofstrom led off with an infield single. The next batter, Clint Jack, smacked a triple to center field, sending home Lofstrom. Three batters later SBU had loaded the bases with one out. Tyler Mathys capitalized on the opportunity by hitting a 2 RBI single to left field that gave the Bearcats plenty of insurance and a 5-1 lead. SBU would add one more run in the top of the 8th on a perfectly executed double steal, which sent home Carl Schwettmann.

Starting pitcher Drew Wagner and relief pitcher Adam White combined to throw all 9 innings for the Bearcats, allowing just the one run and three total hits. White picked up the win (1-0) and was dominant out of the bullpen. White, a sophomore from Ozark, Mo., tossed 6 shutout innings and let up just one hit along with striking out 5 Mules hitters. Luke Lucas (2-1) was saddled with the loss.

The Bearcats used a balanced attack at the plate. Jack went 2 for 3 with a run scored and RBI. Mathys had a hit and 2 RBI out of the leadoff spot while Hisky collected a hit and RBI.

SBU will now return home for a three game series beginning on Thursday at 2:00 PM against Northeastern State.
