Hays, Ks. - SBU Softball loses both games of doubleheader to Fort Hays State.
Game 1 Recap
In the bottom of the second, Fort Hays State started off the action by taking a 1-0 lead. Going to the bottom of the sixth, Kori Hillenburg scored to tie up the score, then in the same inning Jaidyn Mawhinney singled to second base and Yaz Gonzalez scored to make the score 2-1 SBU. That lead would be brief as the Lions scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth to take the game back and held on from there. The final score would end in favor of the Lions, 3-2.
Game 2 Recap
Fort Hays State had a great start in the second game by scoring 4 runs in the bottom of the first. The Bearcats couldn't get any runs back until the top of the sixth. On a throwing error, Payton Wildeman and Stormy Greenhouse scored two runs but it wasn't enough to get back in the game. The Lions ended this game with a victory, winning 4-2.
SBU Softball will be back facing Missouri Southern State in a double header at home on March 27th at 1PM and 3PM.
