Men's Tennis Wins, Women's Tennis Falls Against Missouri St. Louis

St. Louis, Mo. - On Saturday, the Southwest Bapitst Men's Tennis and Women's team faced off with University of Missouri-St. Louis. The menwon their 8th match in a row to push their record to 8-1 (1-0 MIAA) while the women lost their first match of year to make their record 4-1 (1-0 MIAA).

Men's Tennis Recap
The men's tennis team had a great start by sweeping all three points in doubles. In singles, the players carried the high energy and focus they had in doubles to sweep all six singles. Only singles #2 was pushed into a third set tiebreaker while all the other matches were won in two straight sets.

Men's tennis will be back in action on Wednesday when they host William Woods. That will be the first home game for the Bearcats. 

Women's Tennis Recap
In doubles, the Bearcats won two points from doubles #1 and #2 to go up 2-1. In singles, UMSL came out strong by tying the score 2-2 after winning in two straight sets in singles #2. The Tritons followed that win with victories in singles #1, #3, and #6 to give them the five points needed to win the match. Junior Sarah Brown and freshman Constança Crespo got the remaining two points for the Bearcats to make the final score 5-4.

Women's tennis will be back in action on Thursday and Friday, hosting UCO and Northeastern State.
