Box Score

Bolivar, Mo. - The Bearcats played game two of three against Nebraska-Kearney on Sunday afternoon. The Lopers went on to win by a score of 13-8, giving SBU an overall record of 5-8 (0-2 MIAA).

Both teams had quiet innings offensively. Jackson Mueller made an outstanding diving catch, ensuring no baserunners in the top of the first inning. All nine Kearney batters got an appearance in the second inning. They opened the game up, bringing home four. SBU had a quick 1-2-3 second inning.

The Lopers scored another five runs in their half of the fifth inning, but the Bearcats answered with three of their own, making the game 9-3 in favor of UNK. Tyler Mathys singled home one RBI and Andrew Meier followed with a two RBI double. Kearney quickly made up for the loss, plating three runs in the sixth.

SBU scored two more in the seventh inning thanks to a Carl Schwettman single and a SAC fly from Hunter Hisky. The Lopers scored one more run from a SAC fly of their own in the eighth to make it a 13-5 Kearney lead. Hunter Hisky provided some hope for the Bearcats in the ninth, hitting a three-run homer over the left center wall. Unfortunately, SBU could not plate anymore runs, giving UNK the 13-8 win.

Game three will be played on Monday at 12:00 p.m. at Dodson Field.
