Women's Basketball Falls Against Washburn

Bolivar, Mo. - Megan Rosenbohm played her last home game in this season and scored 21 points but it wasn't enough to beat the Washburn Ichabods. The Bearcats record now is 15-11 (7-10 MIAA) this season.

Rosenbohm scored her 21 points on 8 for 17 (47.1%) shooting, one three pointer, and 4 for 6 (66.7%) shooting at the line. She added 8 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals, and 1 block. Caylee Richardson was second in scoring on 3-9 (33.3%) field shots and 7-8 (87.5%) for free throws. She also collected 6 rebounds and 3 steals. Bailey Rezabek scored 10 points on 4-8 (50%) and 2-5 (40%) on threes. 

As a team, Southwest Baptist made 36.7% (22-60) of their field goals, 28.6% (6-21) for three pointers, and 80% (16-20) at the line. The Bearcats were leading at halftime by 34-32 but the Ichabods outscored SBU 37-32 in the second half to get the comeback win. The game ended by a score 69-66 in favor for Washburn.

The game was really close for both team in the first quarter. Both teams were battling who will take the lead after the first quarter but a three pointer from Washburn's Hunter Bentley made the score 18-16 for Ichabods. It was the last score in the first quarter. SBU focused to come back in the 2nd quarter. At the 6:46 count, Rosenbohm made an incredible steal, which led to two Richardson free throws to make the score 25-20 Bearcats. Washburn managed to come back within two points at halftime, 34-32.

In the 3rd quarter, Washburn had a great start by scoring eight in a row while the Bearcats scored none. Regan Tibbits tied the score back up 40-40 at the 5:11 mark. SBU outscored Washburn by four points the rest of the quarter to make it 51-47 Bearcats. In the last quarter of the game, the score was tied 57-57 in almost halfway through the quarter. Washburn scored a lay up by Axelle Bernard and a three pointer by Taylor Blue to give them a 62-57 lead. Rosenbohm tied back the game again to a 64-64. Then with four seconds left, Richardson attempted a three to tie the game at 69 but the shot missed and Washburn won 69-66. 

Southwest Baptist will head on the road for their next game to Fort Hays on Thrusday February 22nd hoping for the win.
