Four Bearcats Score Double Digit Points in Win Against Sterling College

Bolivar, Mo. – The SBU Men's Basketball team hosted the Sterling College Warriors in a non conference matchup Saturday afternoon. The Bearcats defeated the Warriors 78-55, improving their record to 7-4 (1-1 MIAA) on the year.
 
SBU scored the first 7 points of the game thanks to layups from Chris Rossow and Karim Mouliom, as well as a three pointer from Damian Prgomet. The Warriors responded with 5 points, but kept quiet for 6 minutes, scoring their next bucket with 8:33 remaining in the half. SBU extended their lead to 30 after Andy Campbell nailed a jumper behind the arc. The teams battled back and forth, SBU's largest lead in the first half would be 33, but took a 29 point lead into halftime with a 49-20 score.
 
Damian Prgomet got the second half going with a layup. The teams then traded layups, this one scored by Karim Mouliom. Again, the teams went back and forth, keeping SBU's lead around 20. With 10:07 remaining, Godfrey Rolle and Chris Rossow nailed back to back three pointers to build their lead back up to 32. An Andy Campbell gave SBU their largest lead of the night, a 34 point difference. The Warriors scored the final bucket of the game, but the Bearcats would take the win, 78-55.
 
Chris Rossow led SBU in points, scoring 17. Karim Mouliom was 1 point shy of a double-double, finishing with 9 points and 11 rebounds. Damian Prgomet, Godfrey Rolle, and Andy Campbell were the other Bearcats in double digit points.
 
SBU will compete in conference play in their next competition, hosting Nebraska Kearney on Thursday, January 3rd at 7:30 PM.
