Bolivar, Mo. – The SBU Men's Soccer Team wrapped up their 2018 season Sunday afternoon, Upper Iowa defeating the Bearcats 1-0. SBU finishes their 2018 season with a record of 1-16 (0-8 MIAA).
 
Upper Iowa got the first shot off just 3 minutes into the game, landing just above the crossbar. The first half was quiet in the shots area, the next shot coming 20 minutes into the game. Ian Martin made the first save on the day with 15 minutes remaining in the first half. Josh Peloquin had a good look on the other side of the field shortly after, but the Peacock goalie made the save. Just a few minutes later, Upper Iowa blasted a shot to the upper left corner of the goal, but Ian Martin made a one-handed save to keep the score tied at zero. With 9 minutes remaining, Isaiah Waddy attempted a shot that fell high. Josh Peloquin followed with a shot on goal, saved by the visitors. After a corner kick, John Clerveau headed a shot on goal, but it wouldn't pass the goalie. Neither team would score in the first half.
 
Less than five minutes into the second half, Upper Iowa took a 1-0 lead on a shot placed perfectly in the upper right corner of the goal. The Peacocks fired another shot on goal 10 minutes later, Martin making the save. John Clerveau put a shot on goal with 32 minutes remaining, but it was saved by the Upper Iowa goalie. Josh Peloquin had another scoring opportunity, firing a shot that landed just to the right of the goal. Torben Semrau followed shortly after with a rocket of a shot on goal, but the Peacock goalie caught it. With 17 minutes remaining, Peloquin put a header on goal, but it wouldn't find the back of the net. The Bearcats wouldn't be able to score before time expired, giving Upper Iowa a 1-0 victory.
