Bolivar, Mo. – The Central Washington Wildcats visited Bolivar Saturday afternoon, defeating the Bearcats 74-28. The Bearcats fall to 0-9 (0-6 GLVC) on the season.
 
Central Washington received the ball to begin the game, but they were forced to punt after a 5 play drive. SBU had a very short first drive, giving up an interception on their first play. Beginning with the ball on SBU's 49, the Wildcats drove the remainder of the field and scored a touchdown, missing the PAT to give them a 6-0 lead. SBU and CWU swapped unsuccessful drives, setting the Bearcats up with good field position on the Wildcat 41 yard line following a 23 yard punt return by 
Kentavon Hawkins. Southwest Baptist scored on the first play of the drive, a 41 yard 
Eric Knight touchdown, giving SBU a 7-6 lead. Central Washington drove 75 yards on their next possession, scoring another touchdown, giving them the lead again 13-7. The next Bearcat drive was similar to their last, this one capped off with a 58 yard 
Eric Knight touchdown, 14-13 SBU.
 
To begin the second quarter, Central Washington scored again after driving another 75 yards down the field. After unsuccessful drives by the Bearcats, the Wildcats would score three more times before the end of the half. The first score came off a 5 play, 61 yard drive; the second due to a 4 play, 35 yard drive; and the third score on a 2 play, 34 yard drive. Central Washington took a 41-14 lead into halftime.
 
The Bearcats were the receiving team to begin the third quarter, but Central Washington kicked an onside kick and gained possession on their own 47 yard line. They drove the field, scoring off a 1 yard touchdown run, 48-14 Wildcats. The Bearcats responded with a score of their own, a 67 yard touchdown pass from 
Bryse Salik to 
Eric Knight. The visitors scored twice more in the third quarter, taking a 60-21 lead into the fourth. The SBU drive that began in the third and rolled into the fourth was led by quarterback 
Sam Hall. On 3
rd and 13 Hall found 
Connor Ratcliff for 17 yards, giving the Bearcats a first down. On the next play, Hall connected with 
Matt Lechuga for another 17 yards, taking them to the CWU 44. After a 6 yard 
Dominique Lee rush, 
Sam Hall took off for a 19 yard gain on the ground. The drive ended with a 20 yard touchdown pass from Hall to 
Connor Ratcliff, bringing the score to 60-28 Wildcats. The visitors scored twice more before the end of the game, creating a 74-28 final.
 
For the SBU Quarterbacks, 
Bryse Salik finished 8 of 14 for 114 yards, 1 touchdown, and 3 interceptions. 
Sam Hall finished 3 of 5 for 54 yards and a touchdown. 
Eric Knight rushed 17 times for 136 yards and 2 touchdowns, also finishing with 67 receiving yards and 1 receiving touchdown. Senior 
Connor Ratcliff caught 3 passes for 49 yards and 1 touchdown.
 
Tyler Curts and 
Uwadia Ogbebor led the Bearcats with identical stats, each with 12 total tackles, 5 solo, and 7 assists. 
Josh Palacios had the lone sack for the Bearcats.
 
Southwest Baptist wraps up their season next Saturday in Quincy, IL with a kickoff time set for 1 PM.
