Bolivar, Mo. - SBU's late charge in the fourth quarter is not enough as they fall to UCM 72-66. The loss drops the Bearcats to 2-4 (0-1 MIAA) on the season.

SBU and UCM started off the game trading baskets for a good portion of the first quarter, but a three by
Bailey Rezabek gave SBU a 14-9 lead with 2:23 left in the first quarter. But UCM would then hold SBU scorless for the remainder of the quarter and narrowed the SBU lead to 14-13. In that first quarter
Zahria White scored 6 points as SBU shot 46% in the first quarter.

The second quarter was just like the first as neither team was able to build more than a 5 point lead, SBU would have multiple four point leads in the second quarter but with less than five seconds left in the quarter UCM hit two free throws to bring the score to 31-29 in favor of the Bearcats.

Just like in the first two quarters SBU and UCM exchanged leads multiple times in the third quarter, but UCM was able to erase the Bearcats 2 point lead with a layup right before the quarter ended which tied the score at 53-53.

The final quarter however was the deciding factor in the game as SBU was outscored 19-13 in the final setting and lost their first MIAA conference game 72-66.

Morgan Henderson lead the way for SBU as she totaled 13 points to go along with 13 rebounds for her fourth double-double on the season so far.
Bailey Rezabek added 11 points while
Zahria White and
RayShee Smith both added 10 points.

As a team SBU shot 43.9% from the field and shot 85.7% from the free throw line.

SBU will be on the road Saturday, December 1st as they travel to Fort Smith, Arkansas as the Bearcats take on the University of Arkansas Fort Smith at 5 PM.
