Bolivar, Mo. - SBU scored at least 20 points in every quarter as they win big over Kansas Christian 105-19. The win moves the Bearcats record to 2-2 on the season.
To open up the game SBU would start on a 14-0 run to open the game before Kansas Christian would call a timeout with 6:50 in the first quarter. The Bearcats held Kansas Christian scoreless until 5:29 left in the first quarter and held a 27-4 lead after the end of the first.
SBU would then start the second quarter going on a 10-0 run, before Kansas Christian would score a basket with 7:49 in the second quarter. The Bearcats would only allow three points for the remainder of the second half and at halftime SBU would have a 56-9 lead. At halftime the Bearcats were shooting 45% from the field while shooting 50% from the three point line and the Bearcats focred 11 turnovers while tallying 17 assists.
In the third quarter SBU would continue their strong play as they started off the third quarter shooting 55% from the field to increase their lead 68-11 when the first media timout of the quarter hit. SBU would score 11 more points and Kansas Christian would tally just 4 points and at the end of the third quarter SBU led 79-15 heading into the final quarter of the game.
In the final quarter SBU would add another 26 points while only allowing 4 as SBU would defeat Kansas Christian 105-19.
The entire SBU Bearcats team scored at least once, but were led by
Brylee Graddy who totaled 21 points.
Laura Vierkant also contributed 19 points and continues a streak of four straight games scoring at least 15 points. And
Morgan Henderson added 10 points which also continues a streak of 3 games scoring at least 10 points.
As a team the Bearcats shot 56% from the field, 36% from three, and 80% from the free throw line. SBU also tallied 24 assists and pulled down 66 rebounds 23 of which were offensive rebounds.
The Bearcats will be back in action on Monday November, 19 in St. Louis, Missouri as they take on the University of Missouri-St. Louis at 5 PM.
