Women's Soccer Falls in Final Regular Season Game

Tahlequah, Okla. - The Bearcats wrapped up their regular season with a match against Northeastern State. The Riverhawks defeated the Bearcats by a score of 5-2, wrapping SBU's regular season record up at 2-14-2 (2-10-1 MIAA).

The Riverhawks put a shot on goal early into the game, SBU goalkeeper Abbie Reeves was there to make the save. Just over the 18 minute mark, NSU went up 1-0 with the first goal of the game. Raquel Rodriguez attempted a shot just a couple minutes after the goal, but the NSU goalie made the stop. A second Riverhawk goal came with just 5 minutes remaining in the half. Abbie Reeves was busy in the first half, making 7 saves, allowing only two goals. 

Callie Chenoweth took over in goal for the Bearcats to start the second half. Just 1:48 into the second half, the Bearcats cut the Riverhawk lead in half thanks to a Raegan Edwards goal. Edwards fired another shot on goal about 5 minutes later, but couldn't find the back of the net. The Riverhawks hit the crossbar with a shot at 58:15 and scored just seconds later due to a penalty kick following an SBU penalty. In the 69th minute, Edwards attempted a shot on goal once again, stopped by the opposing goalie. With just 10 minutes remaining in the game, NSU extended their lead to 4-1. SBU answered quickly with a goal just 2 minutes later. The goal was scored by Raegan Edwards, her second of the game, and assisted by Laura Manuel. The Riverhawks scored once more before the end of the game, creating a final score of 5-2. 

Raegan Edwards led the Bearcats offensively, shooting the ball 4 times, all of them on goal, and 2 scores. 

This game wraps up the regular season for the SBU Women's Soccer Team.
