Tahlequah, Okla. – The Men's Soccer Team traveled to Northeastern State to face the MIAA opponent for the second time this season. NSU came out on top 4-0, moving the Bearcats to 1-13 (0-6 MIAA) on the season.
Only three minutes into the game, NSU came out firing,
Will vanHoornbeek making the save. Just a few minutes later, NSU put another couple shots on goal, vanHoornbeek keeping them out of the net. At 17:58
Isaiah Waddy fired a shot at the visiting goal, missing wide. After a corner kick from
Alberto Rodriguez,
John Clerveau and
Evan Haney got shots off, but neither were on goal. Late into the first half, NSU went up 1-0 with the first goal of the game. The first half would end shortly after that.
Northeastern came out firing again in the second, scoring their second goal 59:00 into the game. Their third goal came just under two minutes later, giving them a 3-0 lead. In the 73
rd minute,
Josh Peloquin got a shot on goal, but was saved by the NSU goalie. The Riverhawks scored their fourth and final goal with 10 minutes remaining, creating a final score of 4-0 in favor of NSU.
The Bearcats will be back in action on October 30 at 7:30 PM when they play Southern Nazarene University. The remaining 3 games will all be held in Bolivar.
