Box Score Bolivar, Mo. - Behind two 20+ point efforts from Logan Hovey and Marlon Alcindor, the Southwest Baptist Men's Basketball team got a huge conference win over Nebraska Kearney Thursday night. The win improves the Bearcats record to 8-5 (2-2 MIAA) while the loss drops Nebraska Kearney's to 6-8 (2-3 MIAA). 

Trey Lansman of Nebraska Kearney had the game high in points and rebounds with 29 and 11. However, that was not enough to overcome the Bearcats. Hovey scored a team high 23 points on 40% (6-15) shooting from the floor and 83% (10-12) at the line. Alcindor poured in 22 points on 5 of 8 from the field and a perfect 9 of 9 at the free throw line. He also corralled six rebounds. Chris Rossow added 11 points, seven rebounds, and four assists while Cartier Dean chipped in 10 points and eight boards. The Bearcats shot 43.4% on field goals, 50% on triples, and made a whopping 38 of 46 free throws, good for 82.6%. SBU dominated the glass over UNK too, hauling in 19 more rebounds than the Lopers. 

Southwest Baptist returns to the court Saturday afternoon when they host Fort Hays State for more MIAA action. Tipoff is scheduled to begin at 3:30 from the Meyer Sports Center in Bolivar.
