Logan Hovey had the high in points and rebounds for SBU with 13 points on 42.9% (6-14) from the field and four rebounds. Karim Mouliom came off the bench and added 11 points, and Damian Prgomet chipped in 10 points and three blocks from his starting role. For the night, the Bearcats converted 42.9% (21-49) of their field goals, 18.2% (2-11) of their bombs from deep, and 64.0% (14-25) at the line.Â
The first half began with Washburn scoring 10 of the game's first 12 points. SBU responded with back to back buckets from Theo Oghide and Hovey to make the score the 10-6. By the 9:28 mark though, the Ichabods had gained a 22-12 advantage. SBU cut the lead under double digits immediately on a free throw from Latham Jr. However, that's as close as the Bearcats would come the rest of the half as Washburn outscored SBU 24-16 over the last nine minutes.
The second half the Ichabods picked up right where they left off. Four minutes into the half the Ichabods had 25 point lead over SBU. SBU would cut that lead to 19 a couple times. The last time being a layup from Kai Woodfall to make the score 68-49 with 7:15 left. The Bearcats did shoot well in the second half as they made half of their field goal attempts. Unfortunately, Washburn still outscored them 43-32 in the half to claim the 89-60 win.Â

Â
The Mules used a 12-1 run early in the first half to take a 22-8 lead on Jakob Lowrance's old-fashioned three-point play with 13:36 left. Grant Shell hit a pair of free throws with 4:12 left and then buried a three-pointer with 3:32 to go in the first half to pull Emporia State within 32-28. That would be the last field goal of the half for the Hornets as the Mules closed the period on a 7-2 run to take a 39-30 lead into the locker rooms.Â
Â
The Hornets would be held scoreless in the second half until Shell hit two free throws with 13:29 left that broke a 15-0 run by the Mules. The field goal drought stretched for another 29 seconds until Shell jumper with 13:00 minutes left to make it 55-34. Emporia State went on a 13-2 run and cut the deficit to 12 on a three-pointer from Stephaun Limuel with 6:38 remaining. The teams traded three-pointers with Lowrance hitting one for UCM before Brandon Hall answered with one of his own to make it 65-53 with 5:57 left. Lowrance hit another three-pointer and the Mule hit four straight free throws to go back up 72-53 with 3:24 left before cruising to the 18 point victory.
