Box Score
Bolivar, Mo. - Thursday night was Caylee Richardson's night as she put on show with her fourth consecutive double double and scored her 1,000th career point in a Southwest Baptist uniform. The junior from Hesston, Kansas needed 17 points to break the 1,000 point barrier and she put up 18 points and 12 rebounds to lead SBU to a 67-53 MIAA victory over Lindenwood. The win improves SBU's mark 11-6 (3-5 MIAA) and drops Lindenwood's to 10-8 (2-7 MIAA).

In addition to Richardson's stellar performance, Morgan Henderson and Megan Rosenbohm both added 15 points on the evening. Henderson pulled down eight rebounds while Rosenbohm grabbed six herself. As a team, SBU did not let their cold shooting on the night, 28.2% (20-71) from the floor, keep them down. Instead, they ratcheted up the defense, forcing 23 Lions turnovers and limiting them to 31.5% (17-54) shooting and 27.8% (5-18) on threes. SBU also had the slight edge on the boards, 47 to 44. That was even with Kallie Bildner of Lindenwood snatching 22 rebounds on her own. Bildner came into the game as the second leading scorer in the MIAA but the Bearcats kept her to only seven points.

Using a widely spread scoring effort, SBU sprinted out to a 22-8 lead after the first quarter. Some foul trouble in the second quarter hurt the Bearcats as Lindenwood rattled off a 23-9 second quarter of their own to deadlock the game at 31 at halftime. Behind six straight points from Megan Rosenbohm midway through the third quarter, SBU was able to build a 49-44 advantage at the end of three. Going into the fourth quarter, Richardson needed eight points to reach 1,000 career points and she scored nine of SBU's 18 points in the quarter to accomplish the plateau.

The Bearcats will next be in action Saturday afternoon when they take the court against MIAA foe, Lincoln. Tip is set for 1:30 PM at the Meyer Sports Center in Bolivar.
