Bolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University football team returns home to host Mississippi College for their 2017 home opener on Saturday evening. The game, which will feature post game fireworks, is set to kickoff at 6:00 p.m.
The Coaches and the All-Time Series
Robert Clardy will begin his third season as the head coach on the Bearcat bench. Coach Clardy led the Bearcats to their first ever NCAA Playoff appearance, National Ranking, and Conference Championship during the 2016 season. Coach Clardy has produced six All-American's during his career, while seeing his athletes break numerous SBU, GLVC, and NCAA records.
John Bland is in his fourth season as the head coach at Mississippi College. Bland holds a career coaching record of 81-50, including a 6-24 mark at Mississippi College.
Saturday's game marks the first meeting between Southwest Baptist and Mississippi College.

Mississippi College comes into the game against Southwest Baptist 0-1 (0-0 GSC) after falling to Clark-Atlanta in overtime 32-29 last week. Tyler Curts leads the Bearcats with 13 tackles and 3.5 tackles for a loss, while
Brycen Gagnon (11 tackles),
