Hays, Kan. - The Southwest Baptist University men's soccer team fell on the road to Fort Hays State on Friday evening 7-0.
Hays opened up the scoring in the 9th minute of play with the first goal of the evening before tacking on another in the 16th minute of play to lead 2-0 early on. The Bearcats settled down, and held FHSU scoreless for the final 29 minutes of the first half as SBU went into the break trailing 2-0. In the second half Fort Hays would score five goals as the Bearcats eventually fell 7-0.
SBU will return to action on Friday, September 29 when they host Upper Iowa in SBU's home MIAA opener. Play is set to begin at 7:30 p.m. from Plaster Stadium in Bolivar.
